Matt Jones – 10 years proves the theory?

matt jones

About a week ago, Matt Jones’ 10 year anniversary shoot with his sponsors Halo Wheels was released. The edit is an inspiring one with the relationship between Matt and Halo having a big feel good factor around it and, for this alone, it’s worth a watch. If you scratch the surface, there’s potentially something extra to be had from it too.

For those eagle eyed observers amongst us, Matt emerged on the international dirt jump/freestyle MTB scene in 2013 at the age of 18. This bit of information becomes interesting when you watch the below video in which Matt tells us that he started racing bikes aged 9. Swedish psychologist, K.Anders Ericsson’s theory of 10,000 hours practice to achieve elite level performance (10,000 hours of deliberate practice amassed at 1,000 hours per year) is contentious but could support for it be found in Matt’s story?

Whether it is or not is for you to decide but in the mean time enjoy the Matt Jones/Halo Wheels story………..

If you’re going to take the time to practice, practice like the elite.
