Oceania Mountain Bike Championships – Sam Blenkinsop takes DH win and Wyn Masters’ prototype DH bike

Oceania

This weekend (9-11 February) the Oceania Mountain Bike Championships  took place at Signal Hill, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. While practice for the downhill race was dry, conditions for the race were anything but as the below #eddievision clip on the vitalmtb channel shows.

Sam Blenkinsop took the elite DH mens win and full details of the race results for the downhill and XCO races, along with video clips and photos, can be found on the Cycling New Zealand Facebook page.

Likely to be more talked about than the racing though, was Wyn Masters blasting down the hill on a prototype carbon downhill bike. Details are scarce at the minute but Pinkbike have a First Look feature on it.

If you’re going to take the time to practice, practice like the elite.
